Elan Vineyard: Planted in the early 1980’s on a north-easterly slope in Balnarring on the Mornington Peninsula.
The vineyard is 2.5 hectares in size, 110 meters above sea level protected by tree lines but still receiving cooling southerly breezes. The Vineyard is not irrigated and low yielding.
Our viticultural practices expose our fruit to dappled sunlight and thus maximize our fruit quality. Winemaking is one of limited interference, using wild yeast to produce wines that reflect our vineyard site.
Our desire to produce premium wines from grape varieties both classic and unusual gave us the inspiration for our estate name-“Elan”. To achieve our goal with passion and “flair”. We make estate grown, hand crafted, small quantities of exceptional wines.
